Cardiac Imaging
Cardiac Imaging
Cardiac imaging is a subspecialty of radiology that helps doctors diagnose a wide array of cardiovascular conditions in both adults and children.
With rapid technological advancements leading to faster acquisition times, better resolution and improved diagnostic applications, the field is now a key non-invasive tool to diagnose cardiac conditions and facilitate appropriate treatment plans.
Different imaging techniques are now used to diagnose heart disease, and a patient might need a combination of these for proper diagnosis and management.
CT coronary angiogram
This is a non-invasive test which uses iodine-based dye and a multi-detector CT scanner to provide excellent anatomical detail to assess for the presence and extent of coronary heart disease. Medication may also be given to reduce the heart rate to make images clearer and easier to interpret. This will assist your doctor to recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Cardiac MRI
With our state-of-the-art 3T MRI scanner, we can offer the latest techniques in assessing both the structure and function of the heart as well as monitoring response to treatment. MRI does not require ionizing radiation with no long-term effects related to the procedure. Some cardiac MRI imaging may require the injection of a contrast agent to assist in providing information related to tissue blood supply, inflammation and scarring as well as depicting tumors of the heart.
Our Team: We have a dedicated team of cardiac radiologists and radiographers. Our cardiac radiologists include two internationally trained subspecialists in advanced cardiac imaging, who aim to aid doctors in diagnosing cardiac disorders for earlier management and improved patient outcomes.
